I just had the same exact problem (using MySQL 5)
After banging my head against the wall a couple of times, I had to use
“localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock” (without the quotes)
That should be all you need. And you won’t even need a remote connection (unless GoDaddy forces you to use a remote connection..)
