Last night, I followed all your instructions above, and now I can read my custom text box info again! I created a staging site, used my current Storefront theme, deactivated all plugins other than WooCommerce and the Phoeniixx custom fields plugins. Plugin worked, so I then understood that my problem was not with it. After reactivating plugins, one by one, and making test purchases, all worked until I reactivated my paid WooCommerce Loyalty Rewards (IgniteWoo) plugin. Once I did, I couldn’t read custom boxes again. So, I don’t yet know how to resolve that, but at least now I have a much better understanding of troubleshooting issues, and I can’t thank you enough for your help. I have had this issue since Jan 20, and have found ways to work around it (contacting each customer after the sale for custom details) but you are the first person to help me fix it. I will contact IgniteWoo Monday, especially since this is a plugin I pay for, and let them know. Thank you again…you are my HEROINE, Yukikatayama!

Thank you both for your fast replies. I know just enough to be dangerous, and after sitting in front of this screen for almost 15 hours, I am just lost. I had someone who put my website together, but no other help since he quit (over his not being able to fix this and not having time to research it anymore). I have double checked plugin and it says it is compatible with latest version I have installed. After removing and reinstalling plug in, I DID have two fake orders that showed custom text on “completed” order, but only twice out of about 50 attempts. I did deactivate this plugin and installed another, but looked so different that I was unable to figure it out and deleted it and then reactivated my Phoeniixx one, which has good reviews. I have written them, but they are in India and on completely different time, so don’t expect immediate reply. The only change I have stuck with (since my website autosaved last night at midnight on HostGator) is my theme: from Twenty Sixteen to Storefront. Doesn’t work in either, but did work in Twenty Sixteen for over a year. I design personalized fabric and need text boxes where customers can add their names and their color choices. Can you recommend a good plug in that will do this? I will click on all the links you both provided, but at this point, I am just lost.
