In reply to: [ColorWay] Can I go back to a previous version of Colorway? If anyone is interested, I found that the safest way is to rename the Colorway theme directory before copying the files from the backup into the theme directory. When I loaded the site, I found that I could easily go back to the renamed theme. It was still identified as Colorway, but with a different preview than the older one. That way I could activate either one as I pleased.
At first I was concerned because there was no home page after restoring the backup, only the blog pages. I went to customize> static front page> check “your latest posts.” which doesn’t make sense.
There is indeed a learning curve!
In the end I recovered the older version from a backup. I did have to go into settings to get the home page to load first instead of the blog page. I will have to learn about child themes when I get the chance.
Thanks for the continued help. The original Colorway theme is in the themes folder and active, along with the child theme you created. Maybe there is something different about my system?
The theme author just confirmed via email that I should be able to copy the previous version from a backup into the themes folder with no problems. After that, I might look for a new theme design that doesn’t require so much technical help to do what I want. I am ready for a change anyway.
First I will delete the child theme, as I will not need it anyway.
Is there any reason why I cannot copy my recent backup of Colorway back into the current Themes folder? I would prefer to have it restored to the earlier version.
I do not like the enlarged view of the pages either. There is a whole different look which I don’t like about 3.4.0.
I copied the unzipped directory into the wp-content/themes directory and I get this message in themes:
Add New Theme
Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

ColorWay Child The parent theme is missing. Please install the “ColorWay” parent theme.
Thanks so much for taking the time to help. I will give it a go for sure.
I have the free version. I will try the code. Please fill me in!

In reply to: [ColorWay] Colorway 3.3.5: Disable home page slidersorry, but I was wrong. The custom code did not work. The image did not change right away, but eventually it changes to a blank whited image. I do not like this new 3.4.0 version of Colorway, and just want to go back to the version I had before.

In reply to: [ColorWay] Colorway 3.3.5: Disable home page sliderLsass, I had to go to appearance> customize> style settings> Custom style setting, and in the custom CSS box pasted the following from the previous post by the Theme Author:
nav#nav-dots { display: none; } nav#nav-arrows { display: none; } .sl-slide.slide2.sl-slide-vertical { display: none !important; }Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [ColorWay] Colorway 3.3.5: Disable home page sliderHello, I have the same problem of the OP. With the custom CSS I stopped the slider, but cannot fix the features that gradually rise to their original locations.
The screen shot that the theme author posted is no longer available. I need to stop all the animation. Please help.
