In reply to: [Alante] To modify mobile menuHi Manoj! My post is a tip for those who can’t get their mobile versions to display the menu they want and theme feedback for making it more obvious how to do that. I don’t actually need help, but thanks!

In reply to: [RSS Via Shortcode for Page & Post] Breakage on failed/empty RSS FeedsAbove posted for anyone else having problems. Don’t actually need support. Which is probably a good thing, since there isn’t any! 😉
Thank you. 🙂
Hi Donny!
I should’ve updated this thread — apologies; I’d forgotten about
What’s happening is that any HTML (permitted per the note right there under the field) is partially repeating upon Save Settings. So it’s not adding “here” and some code; what it’s adding depends on what’s entered into the field itself.
Does that make sense?
I know there are tons of support posts — this one isn’t urgent. I added my text/code to my PAGE and left the Explanation field empty.
In addition to my post above, I tested further:
– User makes a comment
– Comment is approved
– User requests data report/list
– User requests anonymization of comment
– Admin receives request
– Admin uses “Manage” link to anonymize data
– Comment is anonymized (email and IP)But
– “Requests” tab still shows email address and IP of the user expecting to have data anonymized. If the user wants EVERYTHING anomyized, this, I would say, is a flaw in the plugin. The plugin isn’t reporting or anonymizing its own storage of information.
I otherwise like it a lot.

In reply to: [Cookie Information | Free GDPR Consent Solution] Email Alert to new RequestI’m not associated with the plugin, but when I installed and tested it, for the initial request (“what data do you have on me?”), there was no admin email, but there’s also no action required by admin at that point.
On the second request (“please anonymize this data”), admin received an email saying there was a new request from XXX website and provided a link to manage requests page.
Hi, thank you for replying, yeah, no, I’m not confused. 🙂
AFTER the request has EXPIRED, I wouldn’t expect a “manage link,” necessarily, but I don’t want to store their IP/email either.
– A fake user (I created) posted a comment.
– Admin (me) approved it.
– Then user made the initial request to view data.
– The request appeared in my Requests tab.
– The user took no further action — didn’t request any anomyization.
– The request expired. Now, after expiration:
– That user’s line in the Requests tab is grayed out.
– There is no Manage link.
– That person’s email address and IP address appear in my Requests tab.In a scenario where the user wanted to SEE what was stored and NOT want to take action, in addition to anywhere their data was stored, it now is also stored in my Requests tab.
If the user comes back at a later date and initiates “request data” a SECOND time, their IP and email are associated, together, in my admin area in Requests from their FIRST request. But that information is NOT reported in their SECOND request. I just did that as a follow-up test.
So the plugin newly stores IP/email, and doesn’t report it in a subsequent request.
I hope I’m not being confusing. I’m trying to be clear and provide enough information that you can look at this.
I see what you’re saying, and understand.
If the data – question, name, surname, and email – aren’t stored ON YOUR WEBSITE, then there are no actions the plugin can take. If a form is completed by me as a user, and all fields are NOT saved on/by your website, then it would have to be deleted/anonymized from the place where it’s stored. That might be your email client or webmail. Yes?
If the data IS somehow stored on your website without a user registering, then that’s a conundrum, I agree.
I’m not associated with the plugin. I came here to see if someone was having my problem, actually.
But in response to your problem, just thinking about how this should work, a user would have to be logged in to see their data. If it could be viewed while you were logged out, then anyone with the link could view it, and that doesn’t seem like a good thing. So if you’re logged out or logged in as a different user, it makes sense that you’d get a 404. (Although an Admin may have privileges to see it all?)
I’m glad you posted that, because I think I’ll update my 404 page to say “If you’re trying to review your data and landed on this page, please login here and click the link again.”

In reply to: [Broken Link Checker] amazon links reported 403 forbidden (but they aren’t)Go to Settings > Link Checker > Apply custom formatting to broken links and uncheck the box. Then they won’t appear broken to site visitors.
I’m manually checking reported links until this gets fixed, because it’s still better than nothing.
Thank you, Dimitris! My solution was a little different, but same result.
In case anyone else is looking for solution and has HostGator for site hosting, I changed MX Entry to REMOTE MAIL EXCHANGER, and all is well.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Not receiving emails to my own domainZion Eye Media’s post in this thread helped me: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/missing-e-mails?replies=8
Domain (where email accounts are managed) is registered one place and site is hosted with HostGator. I have these choices for MX Entry at HostGator:
- Local Mail Exchanger – Use this if the highest priority MX record points to an IP on this server.
- Backup Mail Exchanger
- Shared and Reseller: This setting is not compatible with our shared servers; use Automatically Detect Configuration instead.
- VPS and Dedicated: Use this if the highest priority MX record points to another server, but a lesser priority MX record points to this server. Doing so will make this server your backup option when the normal server is unavailable.
- Remote Mail Exchanger – Use this if there are no MX records that point to an IP on this server.
I changed to REMOTE MAIL EXCHANGER, and now emails are processing correctly.
I also contacted HostGator support, and now that I had an idea of what I was talking about, they were very helpful. What was effectively happening is that email was trying to process via HostGator and getting killed there. By selecting REMOTE MAIL EXCHANGER, the mail doesn’t hit the HostGator server at all.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Not receiving emails to my own domaindanteramires — Did you resolve? I am having identical issue and looking for resolution.
Dimitris — Did you find a solution? I am having the same problem. The Plugin is clearly working properly. And my client’s host has been useless in attempting to resolve the problem!

In reply to: Protect page and folder with same loginI believe you can password protect the PDFs straight up, but I’m not trying to do that, so I’m not sure … but see here for info on protecting pages so that only approved users can view: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/399535?replies=2
