I agree with you, reverendspam. My site was way better indexed on Google before installing the Yoast plugin – so many settings are on ON/YES as defaults.
Yoast is all about selling you useless crap, and the free plugin is just an ad in disguise.

Thank you for your answer. I’m quite new with all this Yoast SEO and Google Search Console stuff and I don’t find it userfriendly being a non-nerd.
I have the same issues. I connected Yoast to Google Search Console multiple times. Not really sure if Yoast SEO is integrated with Google Search Console or not. It keeps asking Reauthenticate with Google?
