Well, I could read the error log myself… I was hoping that there was a bug that could be fixed from your side, since I have all mail-related features of the plugin & forms disabled there’s no reason to call PHPMailer…
At any rate, for posterity, if you have the same problem and (like me) are using a free webhosting service (e.g. 000webhost) that doesn’t allow direct server access, you only need to install a Word Press plugin that requires the PHPMailer library, so any that includes SMTP functionality should do the trick. I installed WPmail SMTP, and that did the trick.
While you’re at it, save yourself the trouble and use another WP form plugin, like the far superior WPForms…

The test form I have sent the link to is just a template, I’ve not changed anything but the redirection part…

I have already taken all those steps, and nothing changed.
I have currently disabled everything but User Registration and reverted back to a default theme, you can test the bug on a default template on this page: https://conferenceyoungbotanists.000webhostapp.com/test-page-for-form-redirection
I can leave the website in this state for 2-3 hours max, let me know when you have had a look so I can put it back to how it was before.
Edit: I just noticed that even though I set the form to “Admin approval”, newly registered users are automatically approved anyway, perhaps it helps diagnose the problem.
