In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Download always failsAdditional Info: I’ve the same problem. Neither with Firefox nor Edge the downloads ends correct. My file is about 8 GB, the download shows about 3 GB without any errors, but it isn’t really the completed file. I tried at different times in morning, evening and nigth.
With ftp the download seems working correct, the file size is identical. And another experience: If I want to create the backup with BackWPup directly ‘backup to ftp’ server, I have to change the settings for serverload from ‘medium’ to ‘deactivate’. Otherwise the job runs in an neverending loop while the job tries to upload and pauses every 23 seconds.

In your log file I’ve seen “[15-Jan-2021 01:03:37] Compressing files as ZipArchive. Please be patient, this may take a moment.”.
I assume, the reason is the Zip-File method. I always see a similar stop and abort, if I want to backup with ‘Zip’. Since a few weeks this problem exists for my backups.
Only with ‘Tar’ or ‘Tar GZIP’ the backup of my website is now working properly.- This reply was modified 5 years, 4 months ago by ludwigmmueller.
Hi @duongcuong96,
with Tar it works perfectly fine – and fast (900 sec per job against more than 5000 sec in the past with ZIP).
Does this mean, ZIP archives won’t be supported now and in future by BackWpUp or on server side from BlueHost?Hi @duongcuong96,
unfortunately the problem still exists and I can’t ignore this warnings. My jobs with ZIP archives are aborted from system because of the ”Job restarts due to inactivity for more than 5 minutes” and “… too many tries…” even using your proposed 15 seconds exec time and server load ‘medium’.
Another effect are lots of uncompleted backup files.
Any ideas?
