I would highly appreciate getting some more information about my problem
I use Stripe! All payments went successfully through. The last ones I received two days before their memberships got canceled. Thus, their memberships got not canceled before the end of a billing cycle but rather at the beginning of the next one.

Sure! I ticked the box “Recurring Subscription”. I set the “Billing Cycle Limit” to 0. I did NOT tick the box “Membership Expiration”.
When I go to the “Members” section under “Paid Memberships Pro” then I can see the ‘removed’ members under the filter “Expired Members” and “Old Members”. But I do NOT see them under the filter “Cancelled Members”.
When I go to the WordPress “User” area then they are still there. Their user role is “subscriber” (as before) but they don’t have a membership level anymore apparently.
