Thanks for the advice!
I’m on the latest version of WooCommerce (2.6.2) and WordPress 4.5, and am getting a blank screen of death when I add a post or page, once I deactivate this plugin, they work just fine. This will need to be fixed to work with the latest version of WP, for those of us who auto-update.
I resolved the issue by uninstalling and re-installing Content Mirror, cleared the browser cache, and everything’s working perfectly now. Thanks!

In reply to: [Broadcast] Broadcasting progress stuck for days!darn, you’re right — Current PHP version: 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.18. And when this error started occurring, I updated your plugin and started getting that error message.

Bingo. With all the plugins turned on/off, the comments issue was still happening. However with the custom template (didn’t design it myself tho) replaced it with Twenty Thirteen, comments work once again.
Any ideas as to what file/function in a template might be causing that conflict? I wasn’t aware that templates had any bearing whatsoever on the New/Edit Post page, much less the default comment settings, but that seems to be what’s happening.
