Hi @chihi108
Thanks for reaching out!You can connect your Instagram account directly from the feed builder.
Before starting the connection, please make sure that you are logged in, in the same browser, to the Instagram account that you want to connect.
Then follow these steps:
- Go to your WordPress dashboard.
- Open Inavii Social Feed.
- Create a new feed.
- In the right sidebar, open the “Source” tab.
- Under “Select the source type”, choose “Basic”.
- In the “Connect account” section, click “Connect via Instagram”.
- Click “Continue with Instagram”.
- Instagram will ask you to authorize the connection.
- After authorization, you should be redirected back to your website.
- Select the connected Instagram account as the source for your feed.
- Click “Save”.
Please note that Instagram discontinued its Basic Display API on December 4, 2024. This API was previously used to connect personal Instagram accounts.
Because of this change, if your Instagram account is currently a personal account, Instagram may ask you to switch it to a professional account during the connection process. You can safely click “Change” and switch the account to a professional account. This is still a free Instagram account, it does not require a paid account.
You can switch the Instagram account back to personal at any time in Instagram settings. However, if you do that, the plugin will be disconnected from the account and your posts will no longer update automatically.
I’ll mark this topic as resolved for now, but please feel free to reply here if you get stuck at any step and I’ll be happy to help.
The fix has now been released in version 3.0.2.
Please update the plugin to the latest version and try activating it again. It should work correctly now. Please let me know if you still experience any issues.
Thank you 🙂
