Thanks for the response. I think my biggest concern remains unanswered: reliability and feature continuity.

I understand that V2 will continue to work for now, and I appreciate that there is currently a rollback option. My concern is what happens in the longer term. Realistically, V2 will eventually be phased out, and at that point users will have no choice but to move to V3.

For that reason, I believe V3 needs to provide complete feature parity with the free functionality that existed in V2, or at the very least there needs to be a clearly documented roadmap showing what is returning, what is being replaced, and what is being removed permanently.

What worries me is that a number of blocks and settings that were previously available in the free version either appear to be missing entirely, difficult to locate, or now seem to require Premium functionality to recreate. If that is the direction Spectra is taking, it makes it difficult for developers like myself to confidently build client websites using Spectra, because I need to know that the functionality I rely on today will still be available tomorrow.

I’m completely supportive of adding Premium-only features. Developers need to make money, and I have no issue paying for genuinely new functionality. My concern is specifically around functionality that was previously available in the free version. If those capabilities are being removed, consolidated, or moved behind Premium features, then that fundamentally changes the value proposition of Spectra for free users.

I would therefore appreciate some specific clarification on the following items. For each one, could you please indicate whether:

    1. The functionality already exists in V3 and I have simply missed it.
    2. The functionality is planned and currently in development.
    3. The functionality has been intentionally removed.
    4. The functionality now requires Spectra Pro.

If it is planned, an estimated timeline would also be extremely helpful.

    Containers Block

    • Shape Divider

    Image Block

    • Hover image effects (Zoom, Slide, etc.)
    • Normal / Overlay layouts and associated animations
    • Normal and Hover border styling

    Image Gallery Block

    • Is this block returning to the free version?
    • Click Event options (Lightbox, Open Image, etc.)
    • Display types (Grid, Masonry, Carousel)
    • Pagination
    • Hover Zoom
    • Blur Overlay
    • Image Effects (Grayscale, Sepia, etc.)
    • Normal and Hover border styling
    • Caption styling controls

    Separator Block

    • Add Element functionality (Icon, Text, etc.)

Post Blocks (Post Grid, Post Carousel, Post Timeline)

These have historically been available in the free version. If they are no longer included, how are users expected to recreate equivalent functionality in V3 without purchasing Loop Builder Pro?

    Additionally, the ability to:

    • Exclude Current Post
    • Offset Starting Post
    • Similar query and filtering controls

    Social Share Block

    • Has this been removed or is it planned for V3?

I also think the documentation needs significant improvement. The migration blog article and comparison tables currently provide high-level explanations, but they don’t clearly explain how a V2 user can recreate specific blocks, layouts, and settings in V3. Detailed migration documentation, screenshots, and practical examples would go a long way toward helping existing users feel confident about the transition.

I genuinely want V3 to succeed. Spectra has been one of the best block builders available for WordPress, which is why these changes deeply concern me. I’m simply looking for reassurance that the functionality many of us have relied on for years is not disappearing without a clear replacement.
