Thank you for the detailed instructions.
After further investigation we identified the root cause of the issue. The problem is not related to scheduling, Stripe configuration, or WP-Cron execution.
We discovered that the Flexible Subscriptions plugin is not compatible with the Paid Memberships Pro – WooCommerce Add On.
The PMPro WooCommerce Add On assumes compatibility with WooCommerce Subscriptions and immediately tries to operate on WooCommerce subscription objects (e.g. calling WC_Subscription methods such as
get_last_order()), while Flexible Subscriptions uses its own subscription implementation. As a result, PHP fatal errors are triggered during subscription status transitions, which prevents renewals and scheduled actions from working correctly.After disabling the PMPro WooCommerce Add On, the subscription workflow starts behaving correctly, which confirms a compatibility conflict between these plugins.
Could you please advise:
- Do you know of any membership / access control plugin that is officially compatible with Flexible Subscriptions?
- Is there a recommended way to connect Flexible Subscriptions with a membership system (for example granting/removing access to a members-only area based on subscription status)?
Our goal is to allow customers to purchase a subscription via WooCommerce and automatically gain access to a members area (courses), while keeping Flexible Subscriptions as the subscription engine.

To clarify my setup:
Paid Memberships Pro is not used to sell subscriptions. I use it only to restrict access to premium content and assign access levels.
Subscriptions and payments are handled only through WooCommerce (Flexible Subscriptions + Stripe).
Tutor LMS is used only to manage courses and companies, not payments or subscriptions.
So the actual selling and renewal logic is handled by WooCommerce, not by Paid Memberships Pro.
At the moment this is still a testing environment and I am verifying different configurations and scenarios before launching it in production.
I understand your note about Tutor LMS potentially affecting WP-Cron. I will check the failed scheduled actions and logs to see if there are any database or cron-related errors.
