Well, having occupied myself for the last couple of days up to the point where I finally decided to post the problem here, I managed to find a workaround. I needed to set the right file permissions all the way up to the root, in this case the /var/ folder. It works now, but before we close this thread maybe it’s a good idea to look into this folder thing. Surely I’m not the only one having this issue?
I know, it’s probably a provider/hoster/server thing, but would be good to know how and why, so we can deal with this in the future.
