Maybe you are right. I think we removed the arrows because they took up too much space in the box, but we will consider adding them again in the next version.
Thank you.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Featured images from Google DriveUnfortunately, public CDNs are not common. They involve costs, so it is not common for them to be offered for free. However, if you find any free options, we would be glad to integrate them with FIFU.
Another public CDN that FIFU uses is the wp.com CDN, but it does not support Google Drive. It has some limitations, so we had to create our own CDN.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Featured images from Google DriveHi Eric,
Maintaining compatibility with Google Drive has been a challenge. First, Google does not want images to be delivered through Google Drive because it is a storage server, not a delivery server.
To make it work, we had to add a CDN through the Optimized Images feature. However, the public CDN is no longer serving Google Drive images. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about that because the CDN is not ours.
So, what can be done now? You have two options. The first is to move your Google Drive images to another storage server, preferably one designed for content delivery. The second is to upgrade to the Pro version of FIFU, where we provide a private CDN that allows you to display Google Drive images.
Unfortunately, our private CDN is not available in the free version because FIFU is still a small project and does not have the resources to support everyone using the free version.
These are the available options for now.
Hello,
I think we removed the arrows because you can just drag and drop the box with the cursor, right?

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] column image doesnt show up?That’s because it was confusing new users. They saw that the editing fields were blocked in the column in the free version and thought the whole plugin was behind a paywall, when they could actually use the fields in the post editor.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] column image doesnt show up?Please open a post in the post editor, and you should see a field where you can add the URL of the remote image, okay?
Add an image URL there and save the post. After that, go to the All Posts page, and you should see the FIFU column there.
Please note that you need to have at least one image added in order to see the column.
That’s it. Let me know if this solves the issue.
Danilo,
Pelas regras do fórum, você e eu não podemos discutir sobre plugins comerciais aqui, incluindo a versão PRO do FIFU.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Really good but UI not intuitiveHello, thank you for the feedback. If you have any suggestions to improve the UI, we are open to hearing them. Basically, there is a field in the post editor next to the regular featured image box, and you just have to paste the image URL there. At the moment, I can’t think of a way to make it simpler, but if you can help us improve it, that would be great.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Thumbnail grom YT directly? But the QR code image (250×250) is still larger than the YouTube thumbnail (320×180). Both are small, but the QR code is larger. Maybe that’s the criterion—I’m not sure.
You would need to contact Jetpack support, because Jetpack decides which image to use. All FIFU does is save the remote featured image URL in the database record.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Thumbnail grom YT directly?I was able to reproduce the issue (the featured image wasn’t displayed, and an image from the post body was shown instead) when using your smaller image:
https://img.youtube.com/vi/NXtQ_ck5ZtE/mqdefault.jpg
But after changing the featured image to the higher-resolution version below, it displayed correctly in the Related Posts section:
https://img.youtube.com/vi/NXtQ_ck5ZtE/maxresdefault.jpg
So, in my opinion, Jetpack is refusing the smaller image due to its dimensions. In their documentation, they say the analysis of what appears in the Related Posts section is done in the cloud, but they don’t specify the criteria—so we can only assume the image was rejected because it’s too small.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Thumbnail grom YT directly?Sorry for the late reply. It wasn’t easy to get Jetpack to recognize posts as related and display the section. But in the end, I managed to do it and created a few video posts using YouTube image URLs as remote featured images. Jetpack was able to display the images correctly. So unfortunately, I couldn’t reproduce the issue.
If possible, please send me a link to a post where the problem is occurring, and I’ll inspect it.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Thumbnail grom YT directly?Hello,
I’m not sure I fully understand the question, as I’m not completely familiar with the related posts section you’re referring to, or how you’re using Jetpack with videos.
Anyway, FIFU was designed to work with remote images, so you can use the YouTube thumbnail URL in FIFU’s featured image field without needing to save it to the media library.
And yes, the export plugins should be able to export the image URLs, since they read them directly from the database. So FIFU doesn’t need to do anything to make this possible.
