why if the files exists the page can’t find those files inside the server? showing me the error?

i follow 1 of those guide the last but i don’t understand why when i put for example http:/mydomain.com/wordpress or
http:/mydomain.com/wordpress/wp-admin/setup-config-php
The page show me :
Not Found
The requested URL /wordpress/wp-admin/ was not found on this server.
or
Not Found
The requested URL /wordpress/wp-admin/setup-config-php was not found on this server.
i saw alot of video tutorial and read alot of guide and this wordpress installation look like very easy but i can’t start this installation…
