Your suggestions weren’t correct. But I worked out a few weeks back, that when the update was installed, it erased my settings – in particular the email address to which contact messages should be sent.
Re-entering my settings fixed the problem. But I shouldn’t have to do that.
I have today installed the latest update to Big Contact, and I found that it has done the same thing – with a variation. Re-entering the destination email address in Big Contact settings, allows the message to be sent, BUT, at the website I get a very unprofessional blank screen come up with a little message in the top left corner saying,
{“0″:”Message Successfully delivered”,”status”:”success”}
What I should get is my contact page with a note reporting successful delivery of message.
Can you fix this please?

http://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/download/blackbird.1.2.0.zip
And gave me these instructions:
1. Temporary activate another theme
3. Delete your old Blackbird theme
3. Download the zip file to your computer
4. Upload it using the WordPress theme uploader (Themes -> Upload Theme (from computer))
5. Activate it
6. Set the front page(I still had all the stuff for the theme front page options in my settings, so I instantly had my home page back on activation.)

Thank you! Your instructions worked. I now have my front page back. (I had never noticed the ‘upload theme’ button!)
From what TinaTr says (and also what I’ve been told by InkThemes themselves), the home page is perfectly compatible with WordPress’ rules when you purchase the theme from them.
In other words, there’s no actual rule at all.
Personally, I don’t think InkThemes’ dishonesty deserves anybody’s cash, and I will try to set aside some more time I don’t have, to build a back-up website using another theme.

Ravenbutsu – Yes I am incensed. But it seems neither InkThemes or WordPress care enough to iron out the problem. Another thread on this topic has been marked ‘resolved’, while InkThemes continue to make a very dubious claim about WP rules.

Still, this surely is an issue that WordPress should sort out with InkThemes, isn’t it? We users are piggy in the middle here, being batted from one side to the other. Can’t the appropriate people at WP get on to InkThemes and tell them to un-break this?

Actually you are using version 1.2.1. Which is available on ww.wp.xz.cn. And according to new rule of “WordPress” we can’t add front page of the theme. We have to show blog page as a front page. That is the reason you are not getting front page.
However if you want that then you can purchase the premium version from our website http://www.inkthemes.com/
You will get front page in that version.

I know of four other people, in addition to Ravenbutsu and I, who have the same problem since updating to V1.2.1. I’ve tried emailing you from your site, and have had one reply that unfortunately didn’t help.
I know we’re Lite version users, and you have limited resources to deal with non-paying users’ issues – but as this is update related, it’s likely going to affect many people, maybe including your Pro customers?

I use Blackbird, and have lost my homepage since I installed the new update. All the content I have added to the home page still appears in Appearance > Theme Options in the dashboard, but the website just shows my header and menu with ‘Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.’ below.
I’m using the free version of Blackbird, which means I don’t have access to Inkthemes’ forums. Do you use the Pro version? Maybe there’s some help there?

I don’t know anything about coding, but I’m assuming that part of what you’re talking about here, is the blanking out of the WordPress admin’s tool bar on the page with the log-in plug-in.

Am I right in thinking that the authors of WordPress plug-ins keep tabs on these forums, and address the problems? Or is there some other way we should be contacting them?
