Thanks Amit!
It took a refresh of the browser to fit it. Clearing the Cache, etc. wasn’t enough.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers, Mark
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Amit!
I can confirm that it works ok with Chrome on all of my devices, however it does not work with Firefox on my PC. Firefox works fine on my tablet. Very confusing.
I tried clearing all data associated with the site, i.e. cookies, cache, etc. in Firefox on my PC, but that hasn’t made a difference either.
I therefore assume that there might be a setting in Firefox on my PC that might get this working. If you have any suggestions, I’ll happily give them a try.
Thanks for the incredibly speedy response Michael! That has fixed the problem.

In reply to: [Quick and Easy FAQs] Iframes don’t seem to be supportedThanks Usman!
I have managed to sort out getting the video to play from Google Drive using an iframe. It’s a bit of a roundabout route using a Google Drive plugin.
As a result, the only problem I have is that the iframe is not shown at all in the FAQs list view.
List view: https://winchester-rotary.org/members-help/ The FAQ in question is the “How do I broadcast an email?” one, where all you see is “Please see this video, which is roughly 20 minutes long” when you open it.
Opening the FAQ as a post, the video is visible and plays: https://winchester-rotary.org/faq/how-do-i-broadcast-an-email/
Is it possible for the list view to support an iframe?
Cheers, Mark

As I hadn’t heard anything in a while I restored the security settings to the page in question, as it exposes some internal workings of our club, which isn’t desirable. I have unlocked it again, so that you can get in and see.
I have also sorted out access to the screenshots. I hadn’t spotted that the folder they’re in was restricted. that is now fixed.
The theme we’re using is Astra.
Thanks in advance, Mark

I appreciate that ideally the Video block would handle this, but it cannot. The owners have said it is Google’s problem to provide links that enable the MIME type to be determined. This has also prevented a couple of other video playing blocks that I’ve tried from working as well, hence I have had to switch to going down the embed route using iframes, which works perfectly well with videos stored in google drive.
I have removed the restrictions on accessing our FAQs page and that FAQ in particular, so that you can see them.
In the hope of helping with this, I have taken two screenshots, which I link below, showing:
1/ The FAQ opened directly:
Direct Link to the FAQ: https://winchester-rotary.org/faq/how-do-i-broadcast-an-email/
Link to the screenshot showing the FAQ when accessed directly, where as you can see the video is visible and playable: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15GD6x2SuWrwULF5f6aSOWf6I0w6p4Cry/view?usp=sharing
2/ The FAQ when viewed in the FAQs list view:
Direct link to the FAQs list view: https://winchester-rotary.org/members-help/
Link to the screenshot showing the FAQ when viewed in the list view, where as you can see the video is not shown at all, as the iframe is completely ignored: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nEmnByZkTHPyzE1Wst-m14fwybwVHB8n/view?usp=sharing

In reply to: Unable to play Google Drive based videos using Video blockThanks George!
Unfortunately, as I mentioned in my lengthy description, the Quick and Easy FAQs plugin that we’re using increasingly, with the inclusions of videos doesn’t support iframes, though I have now reached out to them to ask if there is a way to make them work.
I have also installed Integrate Google Drive plugin, but so far no luck with the links provided from that either.
I was kind of hoping that there were some kinds of parameter on Google Drive links that could overcome the problem, but nothing I’ve managed to find works.
I might have to bite the bullet and drop the FAQs plugin, which will be a real shame.
Thanks again, Mark
Thank you! Much appreciated.
Perfect! Thank you! I missed out the “S” in my guesses π
