Appreciate you pointing me in the right direction @drwpcom! That makes sense and it worked for me.
Thanks for the rec @diondesigns, that put me in the right direction. I ended up exporting the raster graphics in Sketch to PNG’s. Uploaded PNGs to wordpress, then included them within the SVGs as HTML img tags without issue.
