Solved it…..
I renamed the jigoshop folder to jigoshop_old, and downloaded a new version of the jigoshop plugin i.e. a zip file.
I uploaded the zip file to my plugins directory and uncompressed it, creating a new jigoshop folder.
I noticed one difference between the old folder and the new: File permission settings on some of the files. In the old directory, most of the files (if not all) were 644. On the new folder, some were 644 and some are 755. It could also have been a corrupt file…
I logged back into my site and was able to create attributes.
I notice that WP was showing two versions of the Jigoshop plugin so I backed up my Jigoshop_old folder and then deleted it, and deleted the jigoshop.zip file. My list of plugins now shows only 1 instance of Jigoshop.
All data appears to be intact. Using WP delete plugin feature would have removed the plugin and the data.
