I’ve had the same problem with EM version 5.4.4.: Events were not showing in calendar when using the category attribute:
[events_calendar long_events=1 full=0 category=”18″

Immediately after installing the previous version 5.3.3. the issue was resolved. Hope this bug can be fixed in the next release.
