Correct, the problem goes away when imagify is disabled.
Nextgen images are disabled, problem persists.

This seems to happen on edit of existing post/pages (although inconsistently).
No issues when creating a new post/page.
Looks like jQuery is loaded when this option is selected “Remove numbers from comment authors”
Still – surely the functionality of that option can be accomplished without jQuery?
