Looks like it was a plugin after all. I thought I’d done them all but obviously forgot one!
It was “Super RSS Reader” plugin that was the culprit.

I’ve just noticed, that the drop down menus at the top of the page have also stopped working too. Not sure if this is related or not?

I have done a search through all the theme files, and wp_deregister_script doesn’t appear in any of them I’m afraid 🙁
