Thank you for the feedback. My apoligies, I realise it’s been a while since you wrote this post. The best way to include a subscribe form would be to use a shortcode to render a form.

That’s a great idea and I will look at adding this functionality on the next release. So rather than a timer before the popup shows, we will provide the option for the pop up to show when the user looks to close the window. And perhaps another option to show the pop up when the user changes tab.
