In reply to: [Mailchimp List Subscribe Form] POST fails when trying to auth with MailChimpHey muz4now,
I suspect you may have been effected by the recent issue with ver. 1.4.1 of the plugin that occurred following the update of WP to 4.0. I’m happy to confirm that we’ve since updated to 1.4.2, and you should see the option to update within your WP dashboard.
Please don’t hesitate to let us know if there are any questions.

In reply to: [Mailchimp List Subscribe Form] Setup Not ConnectingHey everybody,
It sounds like you’re encountering a similar issue to what’s being discussed in a couple other threads. Our plugin developers have fortunately been made aware of the issue, and we’ve submitted a new version of the plugin for approval. Once that happens, I’ll be providing an update in all the open threads related to this topic, but in the mean time it may help to have a look at this thread:https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/is-this-plugin-compatible-with-latest-version-40?replies=31
Thanks for your patience! You’ll be hearing from me, soon.

Hey everybody!
Thanks for continuing to contribute to the thread. I know your fellow plugin users really appreciate it. We’ve already submitted for approval of version 1.4.2, but we’re still waiting to hear back from WordPress. Once that happens, 1.4.2 will become available for download, and I’ll absolutely post updates in any threads I find related to the issue.
Thanks again for being so patient. I know this has gone on for a while, but it looks like the end is in site. Have a great weekend!

In reply to: [Mailchimp List Subscribe Form] Plugin throwing 500 errorHey richards1052!
I noticed you’d posted in another thread, which I’d just replied to. I want to make sure you get that info, so I’ve pasted it below:

Hey richards1052,Thanks for dropping by the forum.
We’ve actually been receiving some similar reports from other users, and the plugin developers are aware of the issue. It looks like the problem first appeared with the introduction of WP 4.0, so we’re actually about to update the plugin in response (pending approval from WordPress). I’ll actually be posting an update to the forums once we’ve heard more information, but I’d definitely encourage checking out this thread for more information and suggestions:

We really appreciate your patience. I’ll be sure to provide updates as we get them!

Hey michael_clever_creative!
Thanks for posting to the forum. I totally understand the need to get that message changed. We’re happy to help.
As mc_nate had mentioned in a previous thread (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/plugin-mailchimp-list-subscribe-form-changing-errorconfirmation-messages?replies=20), we’ll actually want to make that change to the PO file that comes with the plugin, where you can rewrite the inline error/success messages to your liking. As that thread mentioned, we’ll want to follow the steps in this guide to get that PO file changed:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/mailchimp/other_notes/
As for editing the look of those messages, you’ll want to utilize the following two CSS classes:
.mc_success_msg(for the successful, confirmation message).mc-error-msg(for the error message)Let us know if there are any questions!

Hey Colleen!
Thanks for posting to the forum. I totally understand the concern over not seeing that plugin work as expected.
However, upon examining your site, I noticed that it doesn’t appear to contain our plugin. Since these forums are intended for troubleshooting the use of the MailChimp List Subscribe Form, we’re going to be pretty limited in our ability to troubleshoot 3rd-party plugins.
I did notice a couple other plugins we’re installed, including Contact Form 7 (which would utilize Captcha), and Easy MailChimp Forms. It may help to swing by the forums associated with those plugins, which I’ve linked below:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/contact-form-7

Let us know if you have any questions about our plugin! We’ll be happy to help.

In reply to: [Mailchimp List Subscribe Form] Setup not workingHey fprati,
Thanks for posting to the thread.
Whitelisting should help in situations where a host’s servers are blocking traffic between servers. That’s why it’s often recommended in situations where the app is failing to connect.
That said, was there a specific error message you were receiving? We’ve actually been receiving some similar reports from other users following the update to 4.0, as was discussed here:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/is-this-plugin-compatible-with-latest-version-40?replies=28
If you’re encountering that particular error message, it may help to temporarily utilize the embed code that’s found in your MailChimp account. Our developers have actually submitted approval for an update to the plugin, which should happen shortly, but in the mean time the embed code may be the way to go.
Let us know if the problem persists, or if there are any questions.
