Hello?
If it cannot be done unless I override the theme, please let me know and I’ll make a child theme and look for custom code.
Thank you very much for your reply. I’m SO close. I got the news tiles and started to build the header.
I’m only having an issue with the part where you said, “and add the Featured Image widget to show on the post page.” I added the menu, POST title, and featured image in the new header template I created. But I have problems. The menu doesn’t look like it does on other pages (I guess I can manually build this again, unless there is a way to copy/paste it from other pages?)
But more importantly, the featured image doesn’t span the viewport and my text isn’t showing up on top of the image. Do I need to force position these with css?
Hi Nicolas (@nikeo),
I found out that you can test the Elementor PRO plug-in on localhost without a license. Additionally, I can make a testing environment available to you if you would like to solve this issue.
Thank you,
Jerry
Hi Nicolas (@nikeo),
Unfortunately the folks at Elementor have not been very helpful to me directly. They suggest YOU open a support ticket on their github page:
https://github.com/login?return_to=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Felementor%2Felementor%2Fissues%2Fnew%2FchooseI will ask them if they can get you a license to PRO to help resolve this issue.
Thanks again!
Jerry

Hi Jerry,
Thank you for the update.
I could access the WordPress Dashboard and tested changing the theme in a staging environment. Indeed, some incompatibility with the theme is causing the comments not to be shown.
In this case, as per our support policy and as we have no control over any third-party coding, through the Technical Support channel, issues related to compatibilities will not be handled. The developers of the theme should open an issue on our Github page where our developers will be happy to collaborate directly with them.
In case you need further assistance, please let me know.
Best Regards,

Elementor Technical SupportSent info via the contact form and updated Elementor to let them know you are interested in resolving the issue. They really should get you a developer copy of Pro since both Customizr and Elementor are widely used.
I might add that the Comment BOX shows up. Even the header saying something like:
3 thoughts on “** Article Name **”
However, the comments themselves do not show.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Custom Post Type UI] Can I migrate my custom posts?Hey Michael, the development site I am working on is actually on WP version 5.5.1 and running 1.8.0 of the plugin. I shared the link to where the site WAS, but I’m working on updating it. The dev site is (for example) https://racingnelliebly.us/strange-times-victorian-era-people-customs-inventions/
But, alas, “Nimble Builder” doesn’t see the custom post type of ‘strange_times’ and just shows all posts. So I’ve 2 problems. weird-science not showing up and the page builder not seeing the custom content type as something to filter on. If you want to have a look under the hood, I’ll share the log in with you if you message mcfwitt [at] gmail dot com. I’d be happy to pay you for your time if we can solve this.
Also, I’m not married to nimble builder as the WYSIWYG page editor. It just seemed to be well-supported by the Customizr theme I’m using. But at this stage, I could use any theme and any plug in.
Again. thanks for looking at this!

In reply to: [Custom Post Type UI] Can I migrate my custom posts? Thanks for your help! Okay, this is going to sound crazy. It works for ONE of the Custom Post Types and not the other. The only difference between them is one slug is strange_times and the other is weird-science. Strange Times, the one with the UNDERSCORE works great and when I turn off the old plug in I still see the content type. But weird-science (with a hyphen) SEEMS to allow me to create it. It tells me it already exists. When I save it, the page refreshes, but it does not show up under my list of Post types when I go to Add or Edit.
Maybe hyphens aren’t supported? I suppose the next thing for me to try would be to run the database through a find/replace and change every single instance on weird-science to weird_science and then switch it?

In reply to: [Conditional Menus] Doesn’t work at allHey, out of curiosity, what browser are you using. Because I am seeing it work fine in Chrome, but on Safari (on a Mac) it isn’t working. Like not at all.

In reply to: [Recent Posts Widget Extended] CSS when using shortcodeI’m not sure why, but the developer put A LOT on !important CSS calls into this Plugin and it makes it very difficult to override. I hope the next version will remove this limitation. I think for now, all you can do is hack the plug-in’s css code which will get overwritten when you update the module.

In reply to: [Recent Posts Widget Extended] Show more text in ExcerptAdding to this, when I try and increase beyond 10 words, my excerpt collapses to no words. For example this:
[rpwe limit="1" thumb="true" thumb_height=“180” thumb_width=“350” excerpt=“true” length=“20” readmore=“true” readmore_text="Read More »"]Shows no excerpt. But with this I get 10 words:
[rpwe limit="1" thumb="true" thumb_height=“180” thumb_width=“350” excerpt=“true” length=“10” readmore=“true” readmore_text="Read More »"]Add me to the long list of users that would like to change the “log In” button background color.
I tried this:
.wp-core-ui .button-primary { background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #961b4f !important; }in my custom CSS but alas it did not work.
Thank you for the follow-up.
We ended up using YARRP for most of the site and Easy Digital Downloads – Related Downloads for the EDD store. Although it probably isn’t ideal to use two “related downloads” modules, at least the related downloads in the store lead to more product and not a blog post or a static page. So maybe it IS ideal to use two.
If you’re curious you can see it on the live site by visiting the store link at: http://papergardenprojects.com/
Thank you!
Jerry
