You would have to use CSS to center your items. Without seeing your code or your page, it is hard to recommend the best way of doing this.

Are you referring to the slider on the home page? To get that slider working:
1. Go to “Slides” in the main menu
2. “Add New” slide
3. Put in your title/description
4. Set your featured image per slide to correspond with the relating article
5. Link your article in the ‘slide options’ panel
