In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] PDF links not update for Elementor posts and pagesGerard and @cari18,
Has this issue been resolved. I am using Elementor as well, and when I replace PDF with a new filename, the previous links on various pages are not updating.
Thanks.
After updating to 14.9 and using Yoast Test Helper to reset migration & indexables, all pages outside of the Home failed to load. I temporarily, deactivated the Yoast Plugin and the pages loaded again.
Prior to resetting migration and indexables, the breadcrumbs pointed to localhost on both the local MAMP installation and development link.
Reverting back to 13.4.1 resolved the issue.
Any thoughts on next steps?
Just updated to 14.9 and the issue still exists.
On the local MAMP version, breadcrumbs still show localhost as the root, instead of localhost:8888
On the web version, breadcrumbs also show localhost, instead of the root URL.
Thanks for the help
The occurs across the website on all breadcrumbs. I believe others have experienced this issue.

2) https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/breadcrumbs-linking-to-localhost/
No, the site in question did not have the port number.
So on a live site, what was previously:
xyz.com/1stlevel/2ndlevel/3rdlevel
became
localhost/1stlevel/2ndlevel/3rdlevel
On the local installation,
localhost:8888/1stlevel/2ndlevel/3rdlevel
became
localhost/1stlevel/2ndlevel/3rdlevel
The bug will actually affect a live site as well. That is where I first encountered the issue. The breadcrumbs would reference “localhost” even when live.
@mikes41720, Yes I tried Yoast Test Helper, along with some of the other suggestions mentioned above (1-6)

I am using the Free Version. Regarding the ticket, I meant I created a topic on this thread 2 months ago. After following similar steps mentioned above, the support rep said they would look into it further.
Other users have been having the same issue.
Thanks for the help.
1. Updated to 14.7 and still had the same issue. This issue seems to have started with 14.1
2. All plugins updated
3. On the WordPress 5.4.2
4. Verified
5. Confirmed
6. Tried this and still have the issue. Tried the similar approach with each update since 14.1 and had similar results
I submitted a ticket about this 2 months back and the issue was noted. Not sure if there is a way to backtrack to see if anyone was looking into it.
Thanks for the help.
I have been having the same issue dating back to the release of 14.1.
Starting with 14.1, random links in the breadcrumb that go 3-4 levels down will point to “localhost”. On the local installation of the site, where the root is “http://localhost:8888/”, the broken links still point to “localhost”, instead of “localhost:8888”. On the live development link, it points to “localhost” as well.
I reverted back to 13.4 and the issue was resolved. Any thoughts?
Yoast Team – Has there been a resolution to this? I have upgraded to the latest Yoast and the issue still exists with the breadcrumbs. At the moment, only reverting back to 13.4.1 works.
Hey Michael,
The issue has not been resolved it. I created a new topic as requested, but the issue is still pending.
Thanks.
– Mike
I tried the steps mentioned and the issue still remains, except now all of the breadcrumbs link to “localhost” versus just some of the links.
v14.2 was when I first noticed the issued. Backtrack to the 14 and still had the issue. Wasn’t until I went back to v13 that the issue no longer occured.
