I have a copy of V1.0.9 if still needed.
Edit the header.php in the templates folder or create a copy of this under your own theme so you can remove the ‘Submit’ and ‘Manage’ links.
A bit vague but will hopefully point you in the right direction.
I’ve managed to work round this issue by using CSS to hide the post image when in the header.
Have you had any chance to look at this?
