    Hi James,

    After a lead from Rank Math support staff, my support people found that the below code that has been added into Additional nginx directives in the Apache & nginx Settings page is the cause of RestAPI not working.

    if (!-e $request_filename) {
    set $test P;

    if ($uri !~ ^/(plesk-stat|webstat|webstat-ssl|ftpstat|anon_ftpstat|awstats-icon|internal-nginx-static-location)) {
    set $test “${test}C”;

    if ($test = PC) {
    rewrite ^/(.*)$ /index.php?$1;
    }

    Now fixed,
    Derek

    Hi James,

    Still struggling and hoping to get a fix for these 5 sites, for which I have now sent you the full Site Key Health information requested.

    https://familyresolvers.au/

    https://oilcode.au/

    https://grocerycode.au/

    https://franchisingcode.au/

    https://disputeresolvers.au/

    1. I have used the Reset Site Key tool to remove the all Site Kit settings and data within WordPress. So they are all at the same state.
    2. Each site separately reports “Site Kit cannot access the WordPress REST API”.
    3. The most significant thing that I can notice with WPS Hide Login and Wordfence plugin turned off is that in DASHBOARD view for some reason the RankMath plugin does not show its stats under the panel but a weird snapshot of the whole site. This is the same for each of these sites WHEREAS the sites running SiteKit correctly also correctly display the SiteKit data in its panel.
    4. Lastly, there must be a way to get this fixed??

    Here are the five sites and some pictures (all the same)

    Sorry James this is terse as I have lost my message twice by being logged out:

    14 websites, problems with 5

    worked out how the reset the SiteKit plugin in WordPress tools (I am using 6.2.2)

    Each of the 5 problem sites gives the message: Your site may not be ready for Site Kit: Site Kit cannot access the WordPress REST API

    The message is unhelpful about how to solve as each of the other similar/same site configurations work fine:

    This message displays when Site Kit cannot connect to the Google Search Console API, which is required for Site Kit. This can occur if your host, a firewall, plugin, or another configuration is blocking the ability to make external API requests, so please check these services to ensure that API connections are not blocked.

    Any assistance you can provide???

    Hi James,

    Thanks for this fast support response – I was beginning to despair of finding an answer to these vexing questions.

    RE Q1: Not migrating but rebuilding. I have set up similar (and simpler – less plugins) websites for 14 related domains. The websites have the same role, providing dispute resolution information for certain industries (e.g. horticulture and franchising) as before but at a location defined by .AU as opposed to .COM.AU. I intend to place the site intelligence (using Gravity forms and Gravity Flow) in a single, separate “master-site”.

    In some cases I unintentionally connected the old analytics UA properties but thought they would not collect the “new” data from the .AU sites?

    RE Q2: Thank you for that confirmation but it seems strange to have to set up an old UA property to build a new G4 property when it will be phased out in2 months. Again (sorry if you have answered this) should I select the old .COM.AU properties instead of setting up new .AU properties to then establish the .AU G4 property?

    RE Q3: This is my main area of concern.

    did you use Site Kit to insert the Analytics code.

    I do not know. They were NOT manually coded. But I have also used the RANK MATH wizard to insert code so not sure how it has been done. I have successfully used the solution you have proposed with 4 other websites – Reconnecting. And that worked. But these four other sites are different and the problem persists.

    I will send more detail re the links you have provided. Essentially when I try to reconnect the site either goes into the equivalent of the sling ball cursor or restarts with no effect.

    Thank you,

    Derek

    Yes. Reset permalink fixed the problem. Thank you.

    Hi Pedro,

    I have been a MailPoet user for over 4 years. Stayed with them even though a fault in their code took down all my sites when I was hosted with Blue a few years ago.

    Recently upgraded to version 3, which had been promised for over a year although I see that features have been removed. Soon after upgrading and sending my first email to 400 Subscribers, my present hosting platform, Siteground, advised of excessive INODE usage which would lead to my site being restricted.

    Interested in your experiences with Siteground and Mail Poet. I would like to understand what deleting and reinstalling the plugin (vers. 2 or 3) actually achieved and if it was recommended by Mail Poet support.

    Thanks,
    Derek

    Thanks Roland, I knew it was happening in your CSS.

    Can you give me the line nos for the code elements as I find it hard to spot, where it is.

    I have tried Firebug but cannot work it out.

    Thanks

    greydawn – can you send me a copy to see what it does.

    Have you found anything with similar functionality?

    I see from the support page that other have had the same problem of WordPress not finding the plugin.

    Can you also send a copy of the plugin to me at: [email protected]

    Thanks

    Done!
    Found and fixed it.

    Roland,

    You are right of course. I did that but said it wrongly. To repeat:
    With the plugin CSS turned OFF the images print “normally” like text.
    With he plugin CSS turned ON, the images show as large and fuzzy as here: http://www.baradr.com.au/barrister-adr-list/

    I recognise that the change is being created by the plugin CSS. But do you know how the plugin CSS changes the depiction of “images” and where in your code I can find (and neutralise) this effect?

    Thanks again and sorry for the misdirection.

    Sorry, I was working on the site last night.

    It is here: http://www.baradr.com.au/barrister-adr-list/

    I have turned OFF the plugins use of CSS in the Settings and the images are now shown.

    I have tried using Firebug as you recommend but could not identify the code. Reading through your tips and tricks last night I thought it might have something to do with the handling of the image and the way it is “printed” when [pdb_list] is called?
