I checked the Current Blocks and filtered for the known IP addresses of our admins. These addresses are not in the block list. The Live Traffic view, filtered by Registered Users, shows error type as Failed Login. The first failed attempt shows up as Human, but any subsequent attempts if done in quick succession show up as Bot.
One of the IPs used by the server does have a block for a bot hitting https://thebeergearstore.com/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron
I unblocked the IP, and the Diagnostic report no longer shows the Connectivity error in red that you pointed out. Yet, I still get a login error, “The username or password is incorrect,” even though we have not recently changed passwords. So I went into the WP database via phpMyAdmin and cleared the passwords, reset the user_pass field with our existing passwords, then saved it as MD5. This is what finally worked.
Thank you for your assistance. I hope this thread helps someone else in the future.I have sent the report as requested. Thanks!
I am experiencing the same issue.
Users cannot reset their own passwords.
Can only be reset by the Admin User.I have Ultimate Member Version 2.0.43 installed and all caching plugins are disabled, within WordPress and Server side.
I do not have any options to exclude Ultimate Member pages from caching.I did attempt the full conflict testing method and cloned the entire site to a sandbox, switched to Twenty Fifteen Theme and turned off ALL plugins except Ultimate Member – The problem still persists.
Users are not allowed to log in a second time.I am having the same issue.
I sign up a TestUser and receive the Account Activation email.
I click on the confirm button and am properly redirected into the site.
BUT…
after I log out and attempt to log back in, I get an ‘Invalid Password’ error. So, I log in to the Admin account and reset the password for TestUser (with exactly the same password used during registration) then I am able to sign in TestUser properly. Thus, the user is only able to login AFTER an Admin level password reset. As the TestUser, I am unable to complete a self-reset. I receive the reset link but when clicked on, receive an ‘Invalid Link’ error.
I have shut off all caching and CAPTCHA plugins and then all non-essential plugins, but have not attempted the full reversion to WP 2017theme and no plugins method of testing.
So, still looking for a solution…
