it is version 3.9.1 (memorized that now cuz so many problems)
currently the only plugin i have installed is Yoast’s SEO for Word Press. (this plug in is the only reason I don’t dump wp all together on 9 accounts)
the current theme (but believe me I have tried over 20 themes trying to get it to work before we dumped the program and completely reinstalled only to have the same problems) is sg wordpress (site ground) that is installed by my host as the default. They tried to blame the theme too, I was like, dude, its YOUR theme.
the condition: in the widget UI widgets are displayed that are not displayed on the live site. When you move them around there is no change. When you delete them all together, there is no change.
There is also a problem editing the header. this particular theme will not allow you to change the header in the Header UI. On another theme I was able to change the header once I made the name of the header I wanted have the exact file name, and then insert it into the file through filezilla. The name had to match, or else it would not take. However, I wouldn’t know the first thing about back programing the widgets to trick it to work. I should not have to, that is the point of using the program, so there is a friendly user interface that makes it easy. Again, my host provider is siteground. May I add that before March, I had no problems on any of my accounts and everything worked great. So there is an update somewhere that is disagreeable. WP version 3.9.1 noted that some of the changes were to those particular interfaces so me thinks hmmm…

right now site ground is working to upload me with an older version of wp, at least that is what the ticket is asking them to do. I have already had 3 reps tell me they would and then proceed to just direct me to 3.9.1 again. So we will see what we get when were done. regardless, I have 8 more sites that need to function properly.Forum: Fixing WordPress

I am talking about how this particular thread was handled which was the epitome of unprofessionalism. This guy is NOT the only one with a problem and I have spent now four days putting up with this same bologna from “experts” whose job it is to help, not roll their eyes every time someone has a problem. If you don’t like helping people, get a different job.

I swear I am ready to try joomla. its not just the version that is broke. it seems that all the tech support people have lost their minds. Jan Dembowski has just argued with you this who entire post because clearly you are an idiot. I have three blogs to set up for people and the UI is complete FAIL. And there is always some excuse and some bs about how nobody EVER has that problem. I too have windows 8, but wp worked fine before this pos version hit the web. I have looked everywhere for an older version, but it is unavailable in wp. if they want to keep users, they had better get a fix out quick. I wish they would take my advice and just scrap the whole 3.9 all together.

In reply to: Trying to upload header image but I failok i don’t know why the wp people are pretending this problem doesn’t exist, but the header user interface is clearly a fail. this latest version is a NIGHTMARE and someones head should roll. that being said, if you make a copy of the header, change it in an image editing software, save it as the same name and then sneak it back in through the file manager, it will be deceived and use the desired heading pic.
however, it wont fix the million other problems with this version.

I have loaded 8 different themes and every one sticks widgets every which place, refuses to have the posts display on the front page,just glitchy. If I had not used WP in the past I would NEVER NEVER NEVER recommend it to ANYONE! I am ready to ditch it altogether. Fix this horrible horrible version! Oh I will never update again!!!! 7 hours, and the blog looks like total CRAP! One theme refused to let me change the header. Another would not take the search bar out of the header and put my side bar widget in the MIDDLE of the page. Then without having touched the widgets- poof left side. POSSESSED!
