bump … any ideas?
Yes … unfortunately it’s not getting the ai1event start date but in actuality the event post date.
I need it to get the Next upcoming event in the ‘featured events’ category from the current time ($now i think ).
This way it will filter out events in the ‘featured events’ category that have already passed .

So I’ve been messing with this for hours and hours and hours …
I have a custom homepage where I want to pull the next upcoming event in an event category. I’ll admit I know this is a hack job but I’ve tried everything … HELP!
It is a custom homepage … unfortunately using the shortcodes doesn’t allow me to pull the information that I’m wanting.
Basically the idea is to pull the same information that I’m pulling for the other I have one for each category pulling the most recent post with a thumbnail, excerpt, and title.

You can see above that the third column should be the “event” area … I can even get it to pull the excerpt and the featured image… but it pulls the last one posted not the next upcoming event. which is what I’m wanting.
