Ok I found the solution. I thought I would just share in case anyone finds this thread in the future.
I added the following lines to the meteor-slides.css file:
.meteor-slides {
margin-top:-25px;
margin-left:-60px;
margin-bottom:-60px;
Before it was listed as “margin: 0;
This fix worked in the latest versions of Safari, firefox and IE

Now my nav bar doesn’t display correctly.
I don’t understand.. even after using a back up things still do not operate correctly.
