Firstly install the “Velvet Blues Update URLs” plugin as recommended (fixes outdated links after a move)into the subdomain. Then ..
(1) log into the current installation and change the URLs to the new location
(2) download all of the files from the subdomain
(3) upload all of the files to the new location in the root
(4) log in at the new location and admire your success
I’ve now got to delete all the old site pages so the search egines won’t continue to index them and send people to the wrong pages.I must say that it was much simpler than the WordPress Codex advice pages initially implied.

In reply to: Table borders showing in Visual but not in View PageI say I’m familiar with CSS but my knowledge is limited 🙂 I do use the developer tool in chrome to inspect elements, but I’m not quite sure what I’m looking for here. I’m thrown by the fact that the borders show in Visual on editing but not on the actual page.
I tried adding and naming a new style in my child theme CSS but it still didn’t show on the Page.Forum: Fixing WordPress

It’s self hosted. I’ve just taken on a WordPress site which uses the oxy red theme and now I’m setting up a brand new WordPress site and want to use the same theme. I’m new to WordPress and although I’ve gone through a number of tutorials I’m not sure how to get it to copy from .es to .com.????
