As you mentioned search queries are sorted by relevance, which on ours is called “popularity”.
When we use the filters – we don’t mind it changing to relevance (which is a search query) i.e (?swoof=) in the domain. But – is the default also classed as what you are calling a search query?
What we need to change is the default ordering of the page, when the user first visits without filtering.
We have renamed latest to “recommended” so if you change our filter to “Recommended” you can see they are in order of the ones we want, we essentially need to show some first.
I have tried changing in the WordPress Customizer, but guessing plugin overwrites this?
If the default is popularity, is there some way we can cheat/order the results to work?
Happy to pay for some time if needed, we’ve got very in this project and this is our last sticking point.
