    Having read that, I figure my time is more productive writing than tech’ing so for the immediate future, its off to WP.com land I will go…

    Just a question – can I get going on WP.com & migrate to WP.org once I’ve done my google blog transfer & found a domain that hasn’t been taken …..which in itself is a big ask!

    Ok, thanks for that.
    Seems like I’m playing the wrong game. All I wanted was to transfer my google blog to WP. Came across WP.org & WP.com…..read about the differences & figured WP.org was the more flexible, pro way to go – especially as I wanted a non-generic WP domain.
    Q: Am I right abt this or have I got it wrong?

    So IMO, does the 5min installation assume the following –

    You’ve got yr own domain…
    You’ve got it hosted someplace …
    You’ve uploaded WP to yr hosts’ server….
    You’ve Unzipped setup, etc etc.?

    Then yr good to go ie Start blogging?
