The three errors on the dashboard say “You don’t have permission to access /2007/news/wp-admin/index-extra.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”
I also came across one referring to admin-ajax.php when I tried to add custom fields to a post.

The forbidden errors are still showing up, though.

Anyway, I changed the permissions on index.php to 666, and wp-content (and its subfolders) to 777, and now I get an “Internal Server Error” and can’t view my blog at all.

And, as I said, I have been reinstalling WordPress – so I clear the database every time anyway.
How do I check file permissions?
