Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: A few general questionsThanks. I definitely don’t want the site getting attacked, so anything I can do to prevent that would be good. I’ll be looking into anything I need to.
I’m managing the pages, but I’m not the webmaster for the site right now, and I don’t have Cpanel access or anything. But, last night the site wouldn’t load at all. I contacted the guy that’s been helping us and he had to reboot the server because it was out of memory.
I’ll be messaging him today about that, about how/why that happened and what we need to do to prevent it. I was saving as I went along, but I cannot imagine how the little I was doing would cause a memory issue. Seems weird to me. I’ve managed websites before, but don’t fully understand it all.
I’ll have him let me know the ram that the server has, etc and then compare it with the hosting I have for a website or two. I have a hosting plan where I can have up to 3 sites and I’m only using two right now, so if what I have is better, I’ll see if he’ll let me migrate to my server.
If so, I’ll then debate whether to stick with wordpress or not. I may need to give it more of a chance.
While I haven’t played with it in some time now, I have used Mobirise on one of my sites. Drag and drop, might be easier for me to manage.
We’ll see. I’ll talk with the webmaster first and see where things are.
Our site doesn’t get a lot of traffic that I could imagine, but I don’t want to have it not work like that. Phew…
