so I installed wordpress last weekend, yesterday I switched to the pilot-fish theme. Maybe my solution is not the best, but I have one for you.
I can add my own images to the widget areas using the jetpack (so, a wordpress.com plugin, just search for “jetpack“) and they can have a URL added. So this could be the URLs pointing to your sites, I guess.
