Yes its safe to delete the old directory via ftp and reinstall the new update.
Noticed my events had a 404 error after installing the old version 4.3, fixed this by installing the updated 4.3.1.1
To fix it, ive removed line 145 and works fine now.
$sizes = getimagesize($image_path);
Im still getting the error even after the update:

I did that, and the submenu is constantly on now and my image slider doesn’t work on home page.
I have disabled the plugin and might be forced to use another that will be compatible with my theme.
