Subject:
GA4 firing before consent with Complianz Free – Request for Assistance
Hello Complianz Team,
Following your previous guidance on https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/guidance-needed-proper-setup-of-consent-banner-and-script-blocking-for-ga4-gtm/#post-18739344, we have implemented Complianz Free on https://livinghomes.bg/ to ensure GA4 and GTM only fire after user consent.
Our configuration:
– JS scripts excluded in LiteSpeed Cache:
G-L9L9E9VLLV
gtag.js
GTM-56JJV5C7
gtm.js
– Do Not Cache Cookies (LiteSpeed Cache):
cmplz_cookie_banner
cmplz_status
cmplz_statistics
– JS Minify / Combine / Deferred is turned off.
– Full Purge All cache performed.
– No hardcoded GA4 or GTM scripts in the theme or child theme.
– No plugins adding GA4/GTM manually.
Issue:
Despite this setup, when loading the site in an incognito window before giving consent, the following cookies are still created:
_ga GA1.1.319649928.1765016814 .livinghomes.bg
_ga_L9L9E9VLLV GS2.1.s1765016813$o1$g1$t1765016822$j51$l0$h0 .livinghomes.bg
cmplz_banner-status dismissed .livinghomes.bg
In other words, GA4 fires before consent, even though we have removed duplicate code and followed your instructions for blocking with Complianz Free.
We would greatly appreciate your guidance:
1. Are there additional settings in the Free version that ensure GA4/GTM do not fire before consent?
2. Could the issue come from LiteSpeed Cache or other server-level caching, and what is the recommended configuration to work properly with Complianz?
3. What are the recommended steps for testing and resolving this issue?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Best regards,
miskitoto
