Oh, I meant to add I am using CAS Server version: CAS_VERSION_2_0 and I have the latest version of the Authorizer plugin, 2.5.1 installed. WordPress is version 4.5.

I found my error. I had selected CAS version 3.0 but the server was CAS version 2.0. Once I set it to the correct version it worked beautifully.
