Hey – this is a great tip!
I will try to do this.Thank you very much, Saša!
Dear Saša
Thank you for your input!
But my setup is:http://site.com/sitemap_index.xml – Italian
http://site.com/en/sitemap_index.xml – English
http://site.com/fr/sitemap_index.xml – French
http://site.com/de/sitemap_index.xml – GermanAnd my main problem is that in Google search results has English content for http://site.com/ (which should be Italian).
I thought I can fix this by having a sitemap with rel=”alternate” and hreflang=”xx” as explained in Google’s support doc.BTW: WPML adds already hreflang tags to the header of each page – but this alone doesn’t seem to help… 🙁
Any other ideas?
More information:
Directories are used and not language specific domains: / = Italian, /en = English, /fr = French, /de = German
Yoast SEO generates currently the sitemaps for the all languages in their respective directories, which is correct.
My problem is that I want to tell Google the language of a page.
This seems possible with rel=”alternate” and hreflang=”xx” as explained in Google’s support doc.Hi Daniel
Thank you!
That means there will be a version 3.3.1 soon? 😉I just rated the plugin with 5 stars… 😉
Thank you very much for your quick help!Hi Daniel
Yeah, that one worked perfectly… 🙂
Thank you very much!Regards,

The other sites worked this morning now perfect with 3.2.5 – it seems, that there was a problem on the hoster’s side.Forum: Plugins
