I installed the update and everything is working again. Thanks again for the quick help.
I see the “There is nothing here, yet!” message, exactly. The other table wp_koko_analytics_referrer_stats has the columns date, id, unique_hits, hits and each column contains data.
edit: I see that there is data available, but only up to the update. No data has been added since the update. So basically, some data is displayed, but only up to yesterday’s update.

I have full database access and I see the following tables
- wp_koko_analytics_paths
- wp_koko_analytics_post_stats
- wp_koko_analytics_referrer_labels
- wp_koko_analytics_referrer_stats
- wp_koko_analytics_site_stats
Could I clear the referrer data without affecting the other data, or what would be a solution here?
Is it possible that something went wrong during the data migration? I no longer see any data under “Referrer”.
That seems to have fixed the problem. After the update, I was able to use everything as usual. There were no restrictions whatsoever. Thanks for the quick response.
I only noticed it because I was in a single post that I could still edit. But as soon as I went to the dashboard, nothing worked anymore. Then the individual posts stopped working too. So something is overloading the database because of this. The server isn’t showing me anything except an internal server error. Unfortunately, that’s all the information I’m seeing, and I can’t find out any more even with the help of my web host
I installed the new x.1 version. Unfortunately, I ran into the same issues. After the update, I was still able to edit individual pages, but as soon as I opened the dashboard, it took forever to load and then ended with an internal server error. Now nothing works at all, and I assume the database has crashed again, for whatever reason.
Do you think the “simultaneous database connections” statement by your host is accurate?
Unfortunately, I can’t really say whether that statement is correct. I just noticed that the database was overloaded for several minutes and then crashed completely. I also couldn’t access the database admin tool anymore. It wasn’t until this issue was resolved that I regained access. In the meantime, I had completely deleted the plugin and reinstalled an older version.
I can’t say exactly how many visitors per second, but on a quiet morning I get about 3,000 to 5,000 visitors per hour. After a plugin update, the entire site cache is cleared, so the load is probably a bit higher after the update.
One more question. I’m not sure whether you reverted your database to before the update as well, but if not, can you please check the value of the koko_analytics_migrations option. What number is it at?

On other websites with far fewer posts and less data, the update ran smoothly. On the affected site, the Koko Analytics data is about 9 MB in size, and it just wouldn’t work at all. I have my own powerful server, but it’s fully managed by the hosting provider. So I don’t think I can grant access.
We’ve actually had this data migration issue before during an update that had the same effect. :/
Just as final feedback: it couldn’t be saved, and even an old import didn’t work. I deleted everything from the database. I had to deactivate and completely uninstall the plugin, then reinstall it and start from scratch. There are still some bugs in the widget and similar issues. But basically, it seems to be working again for now. That was a lot of stress today for such an update. 😄 @dvankooten
I have a backup that is several days old. I am now considering starting from scratch and then going directly to 2.x. What is the best way to proceed? @dvankooten
I renamed it, but all data for the individual pages remains empty.
I now have the following tables:
wp_koko_analytics_dates
wp_koko_analytics_paths
wp_koko_analytics_post_stats
wp_koko_analytics_referrer_stats
wp_koko_analytics_referrer_urls
wp_koko_analytics_site_stats
The plugin shows a database size of 35 MB. Previously, I believe it was 56 MB. I primarily use koko because of its data protection friendliness, and because it has performed excellently with such large amounts of data so far, there is no point in cluttering up or overloading the database.
The problem is that it seems that no new data is being collected in this area anymore. I can’t see which pages have been accessed.
The backup file has 789,998 records. I’ll see what I can do. In any case, the update killed the entire server and database. @dvankooten
My entire powerful, dedicated web server and database crashed after updating to 2.0. My host said the database had too many requests and everything had to be reset. I now have the old version back, but we can no longer display all the data. I can no longer see the pages that were accessed, only the referrers.
On another installation, the entire server did not crash. However, there were massive performance issues. Here, too, I reinstalled and activated the old version and reset the data. Since then, no new data has been collected.
