I ended up downloading all the codex articles at
http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Special:Allpages
with wget.

If anyone is interested I took all the links to the articles and put them in a file called codex.txt and then i told wget to download them all and rename to html with the following parameters.

wget -p -k -E -icodex.txt
