I’ve been experiencing too many issues with your plugin lately after using it without any problems whatsoever for several years. Prior to this error I was not even able to complete a manual backup. You informed me that I needed to add a command to the wp-config.php file which would allow the plugin to utilize an alternate cron method. Now the issue is that the plugin cannot complete automatic backups. I have already brought this to the attention of my hosting provider and was told that there are no issues with the server.
I host my sites on Siteground. They host more WordPress websites than just about any other company on the planet. If your plugin will not function properly on that environment then I think you will struggle to retain users. I have decided to move on to using a competing product- UpdraftPlus. It is working flawlessly.

While I can now complete backups manually I had set this to backup automatically but it is not working. It should have completed the backup last night. I am using the WordPress cron method and set it to a weekly backup. On the jobs page it shows that the next run is scheduled for December 31, 1969?? Why?
Yes I did. I provided them with that specific error. They checked the certificate and the server and told me that there were no issues that they could identify.
Thanks @duongcuong96. I did contact my host and they assured me that nothing was wrong with the SSL. In any case at least the issue has been resolved. I just wish that the plugin was able to notify me when backup jobs have errors. I don’t like the fact that I was left unaware of this issue for months.
That seems to have worked. Do you have any explanation for why I had to change the cron method now after all these years? Also, why was I never alerted to the fact that the jobs were failing?
