Dear saranshwpm,
thank you for the various suggestions. Here are some results/observations:
- I replaced the content of the field backwpup_jobs in the table wp_options with the contents from several backups I have, back to one from 2020 – none of them changed anything. I looked at the contents closely and am pretty sure I placed exactly what belongs into that field
- I then placed “a:0:{}” into the field backwpup_jobs
I now could activate the plugin again, and created new jobs. But I have problems to set the path for local storage on the server of my host – where is the nice summary BackWPup offered in earlier versions? It told me about the full qualified paths my hoster uses. I do not want to use the default path. - Same for setting up FTP: The button says “Save and test” (or similar), but I get no info about success or errors. Access with an external FTP program to the same folder works.
No backup has been created on the ftp server - Same with the Button “Backup now” (the link below Next Schedules Backups, not above) – I am missing any information about succsess or errors. No backup has been created (or I cannot find it)
- Going to Access to Legacy Jobs unter Job Settings shows an empty list although the dashboard shows recent backups
- Going to Access to Logs (Protocol Settings) shows an empty list (Keine Protokolldateien)
Above that list it says Kann Verzeichnis “/Kunden” nicht erstellen (can’t create folder
“/kunden”). Why creating if it already exists? - BTW: /wp-admin/plugins.php says I have 5.2.3 installed, but the plugin writes at the top says BackWPup 5.2.2. ist hier!
I now deactivated, deleted and then installed the current version of the plugin and created new job(s). At least, after creation of the job it automatically started the backup and I could download it using the link on the resulting screen – but I have no idea where it has been stored (using my external ftp client). And the folder setting (for local storage) of the new job is back to the default without notice:
uploads/backwpup/b0bde9/backups/No backup file nor log stored there (/wp-content/uploads/backwpup/b0bde9/backups/).
All in all, I feel that I completely lost control over the task of setting up backups for a WordPress site! I really hope that BackWPup soon comes back to its old clearliness and stability that it had before versions 5.x.
Would still be interested in any further hints for finding out and testing the path for the local server storage, as well as for FTP.
Best regards,
KlausHi Roland,
I just learned how to use pdb shortcodes with elementor: There is a possibility to create a block with plain text. Shortcodes within this type of block work flawlessly as one would expect!
Thanks for your quick reply – and for a real nice plugin!
Best regards,
Klaus.
