before i asked for advice here, i already read everything, both the user manual and other threats here in the forum. i deleted wordpress cache, as well as the browser cache.
in debug console i found this:

therefore it can not be loaded because no font with the name ratemypost.ttf?9e18pt is found.regards,

I now have a plugin that works great and easy and is compatible with my wordpress and the icons are visible on my site.

If it’s possible to change the shortcode so it doesn’t contain the certain special characters, you should try that, so switch to another plugin.
