Thank you for your help.. I now have a new problem.
I reset the account and that allowed me to create a new application through Twitter.. I added the new consumer key and consumer secret.. Everything looks great and it SHOULD be working…but it isn;t recognizing in the blog posts that wordtwit has been configured.
I saw this in the troubleshooting guide:
Known plugins to cause conflicts:
•Simple Twitter ConnectI don’t have a twitter plugin at all.. I just created a twitter app and added it in the widget section with html.
Thoughts??
OK, that makes sense. Here is my last question – and bear with me if this sounds ridiculous. Can I just begin by removing the line of code that is causing the problem – and then work on dealing with whatever malware or security issues I have going on?? –or is this an issue of getting rid of whatever is causing the code only?
IF I can start by removing the line of code…where is it exactly?
Sorry – and I really appreciate your willingness to help.
I looked at several anti-malware widgets last night and a few of the sites posted on here and got to thinking… This site is fine in Firefox – it’s just Internet Explorer. Is it possible to have malware that ONLY affects Internet Explorer?? I would think that would create problems across the board.
Any thoughts?
P.S.
WPyogi – thank you!! (:If this IS a malware problem, is there any way I can fix it without subscribing or paying a lot of money to some site? Where can I find the line of code that’s causing a problem…maybe I could just take it out??
I know there are ways to get rid of malware.. I also know there are often other ways to work through problems that aren’t as time-consuming or costly…which is why I’m asking.
As far as the validation errors go – I am not sure what to do with those. (mainly because there are a LOT). This site uses a lot of plug-ins – and as they have been added – the number of validation errors have grown. but there has never been a problem with viewing the site until a couple of days ago.
I am using Internet Explorer version 9.0.8112 on my home computer. I have also received complaints from other people using the site on this version of IE as well.

In reply to: Adding code to text box widget in sidebarAlso – this is a link to the code netweather offers. This is the code for one of the smaller widgets – not the longer one.
