Hi obscure, thank you so much for replying to my post.

To answer your question, I can’t find an .htaccess file in the /wp folder where my blog is located. Should I create one? How should I do that?

Another thing I should mention: instead of deactivating my plugins, I deleted the folder on the server. I don’t remember if I deleted them before upgrading or after. Does that matter? I know, another stupid mistake I won’t make again.

    Thanks.

Hi, to clarify, this is the page that won’t work:
    http://www.unechance.com/wp/wp-admin

4 days and still no answer… I tried to fix the problem many times and it still won’t work. I’m getting quite worried. If anyone is willing to help me, I would appreciate it a lot. Please email me at this address: [email protected].

    Thanks!

Are the comments RSS feed supposed to work with this fix? Cause this page is still empty, after I just posted a test comment:

Yay, it works! Thanks and sorry again for the duplicate thread.

This is the blog, in case it can help you to help me:

Which box are you talking about?

I’m a newbie and I can’t find the box. I disabled “Attempt to notify any Weblogs linked to from the article (slows down posting)” in the options, but it still takes a few minutes to post an article. Actually, often it won’t post at all (timed out).

The only way I found around this is to publish a blank entry to the blog and then go back and edit it. Like brianbonner, this particular blog needs to have about 20 links per post. Even when I use the trick I described earlier, the entry takes more than a minute to publish. It’s rather annoying, because I often have to go back and re-edit published posts to correct them. It’s a huge time loss.

If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it a lot.

Even after an error, some posts still show up inside the WordPress admin panel. They even appear on the blog itself (at http://www.bulkys.com/connexion/). So they get published sometimes, and most of the time they don’t. But still get an error either way. The pinging option I disabled earlier is still disabled.

Tried it again from a computer at work and it’s still not working. Any ideas?

I just got the same error, even with the option de-selected. I logged off and back in, same thing. I tried a shorter post and it worked.

Ok, I have the error log right here, but I have no idea how to read it. So you’re telling me there’s no way to stop WP from pinging every website I link to in a post? Earlier posts (that were just as long) posted just right. It took them a while, but it worked.

Is it Discussion Options: “Attempt to notify any Weblogs linked to from the article (slows down posting.)”

Oh, so can I tell WP not to ping each of those sites? Here’s the error 500 the site just gave me. Enjoy.
